Pinehouse Basketball Court Youth from Pinehouse Lake visit the pilots at the air strip for a photo Saskatchewan is known for it's lakes and rivers and remoteness. Most of the province is uninhabited and difficult to access, especially in the north Pinehouse Recovery Lake Program The Recovery Lake Program (RLP) is a community-led program in the northern village of Pinehouse, a predominantly Métis community, established with the aim of using wholistic community-led and -driven approaches to promote healing in the context of substance use. Substance and alcohol use is a problem in northern Saskatchewan, with the rate of hospitalizations for alcohol-related issues and injuries suffered while intoxicated is more than five times the national average. Additionally, barriers at the individual, social and cultural levels in isolated communities continue to impede access to substance use treatment. This research project will explore improving service delivery by incorporating additional land- and culture-based activities as part of the program, conduct process and outcome evaluations to provide much-needed Two-eyed Seeing evidence, and examine the inclusion of an aftercare component to further advance health and wellness outcomes for clients. Objectives: Evaluate of the Recovery Lake Program to highlight the wise practices of land- and culture-based interventions in the context of substance use for Indigenous communities. Make recommendations towards policy formulation and service delivery. Dr. Malcolm King and his research team, pewaseskwan, built and nurtured relationships with Pinehouse over the course of two years. The team was privileged to be invited to community gatherings about the RLP; by participating in these meetings and conducting further interviews with key community members, the team supported the community in identifying research priorities and developing the study’s framework. Pinehouse is heavily invested in the project and will assume leadership all through project implementation. Established in 1987, the RLP is held at a campsite close to the community, from late spring to early fall, with approximately 10 to 15 participants at a time (Joehnck, 2017). Community members provide all-around support in terms of funding, the provision of traditional foods, the facilitation of cultural activities and workshops, and addictions and spiritual counselling. The RLP’s approach to wellness is based on cultural continuity which is described as “traditional intergenerational connectedness, which is maintained through intact families and the engagement of Elders, who pass traditions to subsequent generations” (Loppie Reading & Wien, 2009). The expected participant outcomes centre around generational healing and recovery, with a focus on harm reduction, as opposed to the pursuit of complete sobriety. It is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. 2019 Annual Elders Gathering Originally called "Snake Lake", Pinehouse Lake is predominantly a Métis community in northern Saskatchewan is located in the boreal forest on the western shore of Pinehouse Lake. - Unveiling the Power of Vision Boards: Can They Shape Your Future?
Can a Vision Board Really Affect Your Future? Exploring the Potential of Visualizing Dreams and Goals < Back Unveiling the Power of Vision Boards: Can They Shape Your Future? Aug 11, 2023 Jess Wilder Can a Vision Board Really Affect Your Future? Exploring the Potential of Visualizing Dreams and Goals Could a vision board be the key to manifesting your dreams and desires? People worldwide swear by this powerful tool, popularized by figures like Oprah Winfrey, to display and hopefully achieve specific life goals. It's rooted in the Law of Attraction, which posits that our thoughts and intentions have the potential to shape reality. We delve into the concept, exploring whether it's more than just a trend. Take Aliya Jo Ramey, for instance, a young dancer/actress who, in 2018, fell in love with Broadway. Her vision board included 'Broadway' at its core, surrounded by images of dancing, singing, exercise, and healthy eating. Aliya Jo's story illustrates how dreams can turn into reality through the power of visualization. But is there any science behind vision boards? The effectiveness of vision boards is still a subject of research, with mixed results. However, experts suggest that it's not just about pasting images; it's the belief in the vision that can make dreams a reality. Creating a vision board is a simple and affordable process, often involving poster boards, magazines, and inspirational words. The key is to place the completed vision board where you can see it daily, reinforcing your intent. Vision boards can serve various purposes, whether goal-oriented, theme-related, or intuitive. Ultimately, they aim to help individuals stay motivated and focused on their dreams. And, while the science may be inconclusive, the stories of individuals who've achieved their goals through vision boards continue to inspire. Host a vision board party to encourage friends to follow their dreams and ambitions. It can be a fun and creative way to envision a brighter future. As an interesting aside, hospitals in Saskatchewan are increasingly incorporating vision boards into their practices. These boards are becoming valuable tools for goal setting and healing in healthcare. To learn more about the concept of vision boards and how to create one for yourself, visit here your for in-depth insights and inspiration. Whether it's aiming for a career change, finding a new love interest, or improving self-esteem, vision boards are here to help you manifest your desires. A Celebration of People and Culture Annie, may she rest in peace, was among my favorite elders living in Pinehouse, where I developed a strong bond with many of them, viewing them as an extended family. This connection was deeply personal, a unique relationship I cherished both within the clinic and out in the community. I comprehend why Pinehouse holds its elders dear, and they will forever hold a special place in my heart, including Annie and numerous others I encountered during my time there. I am profoundly grateful for this invaluable gift. I recall suggesting to CBC that Annie should share her stories, and I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to contribute to sharing her legacy. This way, all of you can catch a glimpse of the remarkable woman she was and the invaluable contributions she made to the community. Pinehouse is a testament to natural wonders, encompassing captivating landscapes and the spirited essence of its people. - Visualizing the Anchor: The Science of Intentional Focus
Learn how to use 'Visual Anchors' to retrain your focus. Move beyond the noise and use intentional visualization to build resilience and mental well-being. Visualizing the Anchor: The Science of Intentional Focus Neuroplasticity in Focus: Shaping Reality through Intentional Sight Explore the Law of Attraction and its synergy with therapeutic photography, discovering pathways to happiness and inspiration through deliberate manifestation and positive intentions. Learn how to integrate these practices, enhancing the therapeutic benefits of photography for a more fulfilling journey The Science of the Lens: Where Art Meets Neurobiology Welcome to a space where the ethereal beauty of the Aurora Borealis meets the science of intentional focus. At Inspiritography , we believe that the power of Selective Attention, the biology of resilience, and the art of photography work together to rewire the brain and shape our lives in extraordinary ways. On this page, we invite you to explore the profound connection between the Visual Anchor Method and our captivating imagery of the Northern Lights. Discover how harnessing the brain’s Reticular Activating System (RAS)—the internal filter that determines what we notice—can guide you away from "mental static" and toward a life of clarity, purpose, and abundance. Through stunning visuals and evidence-based narratives, we’ll delve into the mechanics of Intentional Neuroplasticity. We encourage you to tap into your innate potential by training your "internal observer." Join us on this journey of self-discovery and empowerment, as we showcase how the wonder of the Aurora Borealis can serve as a catalyst to illuminate your path to a more fulfilling, resilient life. The Mechanics of Mindset: From "Attraction" to "Action" The concept often described as the Law of Attraction serves as a popular entry point into personal development. At its core, it suggests that our internal focus—our thoughts and emotions—acts as a compass that shapes our external reality. In a clinical context, this principle operates on the understanding that our cognitive filters dictate the opportunities we perceive and the specific actions we take to improve our well-being. Beyond Visualization: Training the Brain While traditionally associated with manifestation, the effectiveness of this approach is deeply rooted in Neuropsychology. It is not about "emitting energy" into the universe; it is about priming the Reticular Activating System (RAS). By maintaining an intentional focus and visualizing success, we aren't just wishing for change—we are training our brain to filter out the "static" of chronic stress and prioritize information that aligns with health and resilience. The Science of Intentionality While "manifestation" is often debated in traditional circles, the impact of Optimism and Gratitude on human physiology is well-documented in nursing and medical literature. These practices are known to: Regulate Cortisol Levels: Lowering the body's primary stress hormone to prevent burnout and systemic inflammation. Improve Cardiovascular Health: Reducing the physiological strain often seen in high-stress environments. Enhance Problem-Solving: Moving the brain from a "reactive" state into a "creative" state, which is essential for community health and personal recovery. The Visual Anchor in Practice By utilizing Therapeutic Photography as a "Visual Anchor," we take these abstract concepts and make them physical. This is the core of the Pinehouse Protocol, where we move from a passive belief in "attraction" to an active practice of Intentional Neuroplasticity. Through our imagery, we anchor our focus on the Resilience and Self-Efficacy we want to cultivate. In my work with over 200–300 youth daily, we proved that when you change what you look for, you change how you feel—moving happiness scores from a baseline of 2.2 up to 4.8. "Embrace Gratitude Always." Tex Bernabe, Primary Care Nurse RNAAP The Law of Attraction is a powerful philosophical concept rooted in the idea that like attracts like. It operates on the principle that the energy you emit into the universe is the energy you receive in return. The key elements of the Law of Attraction include: Visualization: Visualization techniques are used to vividly imagine your desired goals and dreams coming true. This practice is believed to send powerful signals to the universe about your intentions. Positive Thinking It emphasizes the incredible influence of positive thoughts, beliefs, and intentions on the outcomes you experience in life. By maintaining a positive mindset, you are more likely to attract positive experiences. Affirmations: Affirmations are positive statements or phrases that are repeated to reinforce a positive self-image and reinforce your goals. They help you focus your thoughts and intentions on what you want to manifest. The Law of Attraction is closely tied to the belief that by concentrating on positive thoughts and intentions, you can attract favorable experiences and outcomes into your life. Constructive Interference Remember this term Play Video Facebook Twitter Pinterest Tumblr Copy Link Link Copied Set Clear Intentions The first step in harnessing the Law of Attraction is to set clear and specific intentions. Be precise about what you want to manifest in your life. Whether it's happiness, wealth, better health, or fulfilling relationships, clarity in your desires is essential. Write down your goals and visualize them as if they have already happened. This clarity will help you focus your energy and thoughts on what you truly want. Practice Positive Visualization Visualization is a crucial aspect of the Law of Attraction. Spend time each day meditating or visualizing your desired outcomes. See yourself already in possession of what you want. Feel the emotions associated with achieving your goals, such as joy, gratitude, and contentment. By consistently engaging in positive visualization, you align your thoughts and feelings with your desires. Take Inspired Action While the Law of Attraction is about attracting what you want, it's also important to take inspired action toward your goals. Opportunities may arise, and it's crucial to recognize and seize them. Stay open to possibilities, trust your intuition, and take practical steps toward your desires. Action is a key component of manifestation.
