After hours of searching but not finding the exit, you come to the conclusion that you’re completely lost. Bummer maybe, but an opportunity for sure. Because with everything and everyone gone – there’s only one person that you can turn to. And that person is… you. You will find yourself, because being lost means there’s nothing else to focus on except yourself. You are the only person that’s with you 24/7. From the second you were born until your last breath, nobody spends more time with you, than you. For that reason, starting a really loving friendship with yourself is a really good idea. Yet, in life we don’t always connect that well with ourselves. We are so focused on the outside world, that it becomes the compass we live by. Until the moment we get lost and the outside world is no longer the beacon that we can hold on to. Then we can only hold on to ourselves. That’s what I mean with getting lost is a great way to find yourself. Running from the 49th to the 60th parallel of latitude, there is a high probability to see the lights during a geomagnetic storm. It is sometimes known as wide format photography. The term has also been applied to a photograph that is cropped to a relatively wide aspect ratio, like the familiar letterbox format in wide-screen video. While there is no formal division between "wide-angle" and "panoramic" photography, "wide-angle" normally refers to a type of lens, but using this lens type does not necessarily make an image a panorama. An image made with an ultra wide-angle fisheye lens covering the normal film frame of 1:1.33 is not automatically considered to be a panorama. An image showing a field of view approximating, or greater than, that of the human eye – about 160° by 75° – may be termed panoramic. This generally means it has an aspect ratio of 2:1 or larger, the image being at least twice as wide as it is high. The resulting images take the form of a wide strip. Some panoramic images have aspect ratios of 4:1 and sometimes 10:1, covering fields of view of up to 360 degrees. Both the aspect ratio and coverage of field are important factors in defining a true panoramic image. In this situation I just took 3 photos and stitched them together using Lightroom. Battling anxiety, depression, and a history of alcohol use, Jonah turned to the art of photography as a form of self-expression and emotional release. His journey began as a personal quest for mental well-being. The act of capturing the world through the lens became a therapeutic outlet for him, offering respite from the challenges he faced. But Jonah's story doesn't stop at personal transformation. With a heart full of compassion and a desire to uplift his community, he spearheaded the creation of the Pinehouse Photography Club. This club is more than a hobbyist's gathering. It's a haven for local youth, a place where they can explore photography as a tool for their mental health. Dec 10, 2025 Strong Solar Storm Alert: G3 "Cannibal" CME Hits Saskatchewan Skies If you have been looking up at the night sky over Regina and Southern Saskatchewan this week, you might be in for a treat. A G3 (Strong) Geomagnetic Storm watch is currently in effect, sparked by what scientists call a "Cannibal CME." What is a Cannibal CME? This happens when a faster-moving solar eruption (Coronal Mass Ejection) overtakes and merges with a slower one ahead of it. The result is a massive, combined wave of solar energy that slams into Earth’s magnetic field. This impact can trigger intense geomagnetic storms, pushing the Northern Lights much further south than usual. Visibility for Saskatchewan For us here in Saskatchewan, a G3 rating usually means the aurora will be visible not just in the north, but potentially right overhead in Regina and along the southern border—weather permitting, of course. Tips for Viewing: Get away from city light pollution. Look north (though with a G3, they may be directly overhead). Use your camera or phone on "Night Mode" to see colors the naked eye might miss.
